BCA imposes no predetermined style or aesthetic on our schemes. We procure both traditional and contemporary schemes for private and commercial clients. Designs are based on context, function and client requirements and all schemes are driven by their surroundings, structure, orientation and light. Throughout the design should have integrity and be honest. Often the structure is expressed and celebrated as part of the design rather than being hidden.

We utilise a broad range of traditional and state of the art materials and construction techniques. In particular BCA has specialised in pre-fabricated systems, resulting in timely installation, high insulation and low environmental impact as demonstrated in our Brigsteer Village Hall development.

Creating low energy buildings is at the heart of BCA’s designs. Our designs increasingly incorporate green technologies such as solar panels, bio fuels and heat pumps. In 2010, in conjunction with Roger Weildon’s Engineers we installed the first Lake Heat Exchanger in a private tarn in the North of England. If such technology is outside your budget, all our designs incorporate passive energy retention through their design and fabric.
